The Design Studio

The Design Studio was founded in 2005 as a small firm specialising in architecture, as well as, interior design.

The company, headed by Mr. Louis Boshoff who has more than 26 years of exceptional experience in the field of Architecture, Interior Design and Project Management, combines these fields successfully to provide a complete service to its clients, not just creating the structural architectural shell, but designing it with an understanding of the interior space to explore all possibilities.

Having lectured at accredited institutions in South Africa and the Netherlands receiving numerous awards for excellence, Mr. Boshoff strives to achieve utmost excellence and elegance on every project. Mr. Boshoff was fortunate te be one of fifty South Africans, selected from ±5000 applicants to participate in the Bilateral Netherlands-South African Presidency Programme, an initiative from the Deputy President of South Africa. He Completed an intensive training programme in Project Management and whilst doing this, he had the opportunity to work with top class individuels in the field of technology in The Netherlands.

The Company portfolio ranges from Five Star Hotels, Commercial and Retail Design, Sport and Recreational facilities, Hospitals, Schools, Tertiary Institutions, Executive Offices, Industrial Plants, Distribution Plants and Up-market Residential Developments. International projects, as completed in the Netherlands, Namibia, DRC, Swaziland and Uganda range from Boutique Hotels, Executive Offices, Luxury Apartments, Industrial Factories/Plants and one of the biggest fresh produce markets in Africa.

A vast majority of the projects are done for High Profile clients such as The SA Government, Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, His Majesty Leruo Molotlegi (King of the Royal Bafokeng Nation in South Africa), The North West University (NWU), South Africa Football Association (SAFA), and the Local Provincial Government, just to name a few.

Our objective is to achieve ultimate professional excellence in the field of Architecture & Interior Design through a creative, innovative and result orientated approach, hard work, self-motivation, resilience, determination and teamwork.

We strongly believe in playing an important part in creating a sustainable, economic viable and environment friendly solution to the challenges facing our beautiful country.

The Company has worked with international researchers from Brazil and The Netherlands on developing a prototype for sustainable low cost housing units in South Africa.

We strive to develop excellent interpersonal relationships with clients, design teams, suppliers, manufacturers and other specialist consultants.

Exceptional technical knowledge of FF&E items and manufacturing to ensure procurement on-time and within budget.

Ability to produce high standard drawings, design reviews and environmetally friendly solutions regarding the project design and management.
